High Noon (1952)
This film takes place in Hadleyville which is a small town in New Mexico and a Marshal, Will Cane (Gary Cooper) and Amy Kane (Grace Kelly) had just gotten married all while Will prepares to retire as they want to start a family and run a store in another town. Will becomes conflicted as he got word a Frank Miller (Ian Macdonald) who is a vicious outlaw Will had sent to prison is being released and will arrive on train by noon which is the day before the Marshal is supposed to be leaving with his life to set their goals and life anew.
Now Will has to choose, allowing his duty and honor make him stay to face Frank, or leave according to plan with Amy who had left him an ultimatum, if he chooses to go forth and seek Frank she will board the noon train on her own, with or without Will. Will does what he knows and seeks out his friends and this man while Amy stays true to her word and when the noon train rolls around she just about enters the train before hearing shots ring out making her leave. She ran forth to them already knowing it may be Will and even if she went against her beliefs she shoots one of Miller's brothers before Frank grabs her and uses her as a shield to urge Will to come out. Amy manages to distract Frank by scratching his face and Will takes the shot, killing Frank. In the end they board the train and before they did Will took off his Marshal star and dropped it signaling leaving it all behind and moving to his and Amy’s feature.
Shane (1953)
This movie is very well known across the world and won an Academy Award for Best Cinematography. A gunslinger Shane (Alan Ladd) rides into a small Wyoming town with hopes of quietly settling down as a farmhand. Taking a job on homesteader Joe Starrett's (Van Heflin) farm, Shane is drawn into a battle between the townsfolk and ruthless cattle baron Rufus Ryker (Emile Meyer). Shane's growing attraction to Starrett's wife, Marian (Jean Arthur), and his fondness for their son Joey (Brandon de Wilde), who idolizes Shane, force Shane to realize that he must thwart Ryker's plan. Ryker invites Starrett with the purpose of killing him to the saloon and Shane gets word of the double cross even knocking Starrett unconscious to save him. The young boy Joey follows to watch the fight as well and Shane kills the Ryker brothers but unfortunately gets injured. Outside, Shane sees Joey, who notices that Shane is bleeding. Shane bids farewell and rides out of the valley, ignoring Joey's desperate cries of "Shane! Come back!" One of the most famous lines from the movie.
