Holiday Feasts & Treats
Greetings everyone!

Just like any other holiday that was celebrated through time, it creates fun, laughter, gifts, especially traditions that grew along all ages. Christmas along with other holidays were greatly appreciated and thrived with the community, services, and you guessed it, gifts.

Santa and decorated trees were loved by many gifts being handcrafted during these golden ages of time, but that doesn’t amount to the sweet treats that come with the celebration such as apples and peppermint. The community comes together united as one at churches and/or schools all while caroling with fiddles as well as other musical instruments and when you would look around at the decor you would notice it was all natural, greens and paper, even handmade paper chains or berries. As for the tree, it was decorated with ribbon, old buttons, and homemade ornaments.

The feast consisted of buffalo, ham, and turkey was common for the traditional meal. Fruits and nuts were great sides to have. Mexican culture would have Tamales that would be loved during christmas eve. Aside from that the community would pull together, gather at church or schools for plays, carols or just good ol 'social events to get away from the daily life of work and try to be at ease with family and the town as whole.

One frontier tradition that was known and many people would do in order to surprise each other as friends or neighbors by going out and shouting “Christmas gift” to receive a present that would be usually small but highly appreciated by doing the kind Christmas cheer.

Settlers would unite as one in hopes to share the festive spirit, the railroads being in order to bring goods, catalogs, especially ornaments since they are key to having a well decorated tree.

To get in the groove here is some christmas jokes to share to give you a little kick and laughter:
