Behind The Key & Badge
Greetings everyone!

In case you have missed it this is a new segment where we talk to the current graduate staff and learn more about them, their positions, and what they do behind the scenes so everyone can learn more about them and their jobs overall.

Have you wondered what does the Group Leaders do? Well, lucky you're about to figure that out! Each of them has shared some words.

Brooke: My job as a Pioneer leader is to make sure everything runs smoothly in my group, creating articles and activities. I supervise them and lend a hand when they need help. I also try to communicate with other members in different roles.

Others might think my job is demanding and even boring, but to me it's not like that at all. Sometimes you end up feeling a little tired or like you can't get everything done, but if you're hardworking and ambitious, you really enjoy it. In the end, it can also give you many positive experiences, and honestly, it means a lot to me to see that the things I plan actually get used and spark participation.

If you asked me for an interesting fact about the role… hmm, I’d hesitate a bit because there’s so much to say. Maybe you already know this, maybe you don’t… As a leader, you can access a lot of information and know things that others don't... Plus, you can help organize much bigger events!

Obviously, you also have time for other activities you enjoy, like dancing or learning new things!

If someone were to ask me what my favorite part of my job is, my answer would be feeling that by doing what I love, I've been able to help others.

Just as they could ask me that, they could also ask me what I like least. Work, like everything else, can have its downsides and its upsides. Let's be realistic. I think what I like least is that sometimes you try to create new things and you don't get results; you don't see if people like the idea or not. You can change that!

Iris: Well, my fellow lead of the Pioneers, Miss Brooke Parker, summed up our job pretty well, but I’ll give you my own little monologue as well.

I’m the Leader of The Totem Bearers, my adopted children if you will. Yes. Even those older than me. I make sure the inner workings of my tribe are like a well-oiled machine. If you didn’t get the reference, I meant it’s my job to ensure the Tribe runs as effortlessly as possible by removing any obstacles we may encounter and keeping everyone on their best behavior. Specifically, with me as the leader, everyone is not committing heinous crimes. Keep it misdemeanors, guys. For legal purposes, I am joking.

Some more details? Let me think... I am the main point of communication for members of my tribe. They come to me with any questions or queries they might have or any help they might need. I dedicate my time to responding to these requests as quickly as I can with a huge smile on my face. I also brainstorm activities for the Tribe and write weekly articles that are released, which bring recognition to a Totem Bearer who has done something extraordinary or been very helpful to our Tribe that week. I also share random facts that I’ve learned over my time here on Earth, because it’s a hobby of mine.

I find it quite fulfilling to have a purpose. This job helps me focus while giving me something to do, which cures my never-ending boredom. I need productivity in my life; otherwise, I just slump down in my tent and never want to leave it. I love being able to socialize with my Totem Bearers and with the people across West End. It always manages to bring a smile to my face.

A fun fact of my job? I’m not sure, given the transparency this role requires, but for me, I think how the Tribe is like a big family. An environment I keep working on to maintain. I am called Papa Totem for a reason. An interesting fact about my tribe is that we are not as shy and weary as people might think, and you can always come to us for help, even if you aren’t a Totem Bearer yourself. We’ll welcome you with respect, love, and grace as long as you return that respect to us.

Personally, my favorite part of the job is my ability to interact with everyone as much as I do. I’ve always been quite a people person, unlike most of my tribe. I find it very interesting to meet people from different walks of life and learning from them. The least favorite part of my job, I think, is enforcing certain rules that restrict people from exploring everything and growing from the mistakes made along the way. I guess when I enforce consequences, it allows them to learn from their mistakes. I don’t know, but I’m not a confrontational or serious person, so sitting someone down like that isn’t something I enjoy doing.

I feel like I’ve explained what I do mostly, except for what I do when I’m not being professional, Mister Serious all the time, and let me be honest with you, I never really am. You can find me exploring places I’ve never been before, collecting new knowledge, and riding on my horse Mika. I’m currently learning French because, way down the familial line, my family originated from there. That’s all. Thanks for listening to my monologue ramble. Behave guys! Or not. It's up to you.

Daphne: My job is to help new members feel oriented and guided by a mentor. I also develop innovative new ideas for the group and talk with them, getting to know them little by little.

As a fun fact, I like to plan events or articles a few days in advance and then review them on the day of publication to avoid errors or mistakes. This ensures everything is perfect before official release.

My favorite part is creating events and articles for my group. My least favorite part is the lack of participation in the group, as it makes it difficult to organize weekly events or articles that require user input.

Daphne is a young woman who is calm but demanding of herself and who never gives up. She is positive, cheerful, creative, and a dreamer. And I think that helps the cowboys see her as one of them, regardless of her role.

Cassian: Howdy everyone, I’m Cassian Bane and my job is to make you feel at home, and help new members get settled in with the Outlaws. I know i’m fairly new so you won’t know me that well. But as the group leader I see you as my family, so that means i will look out for you even if you get in trouble or if you did something bad you can always come to me and i’ll be here for you. After all, i am the Outlaw leader so i’m not a saint myself right? When i’m not at ‘work’ i’m spoiling my dog Bradley and plotting my next heist.

A fun fact is that this job is never boring, there is always something to do, if it isn’t planning events, talking to people or just doing some paperwork there is always something. And personally i love that, i do love being busy.

Personally, my favorite thing about my job is talking and interacting with people. When i’m home, i’m alone so i don’t talk, (if you don’t count me talking to my dog) and plotting new events and i do hope that you like it as well! One of the things i don’t like to do, is telling people they can’t do something because they are breaking a rule. And as a group leader I need to tell you that it isn’t right and I really don’t like to tell people they can’t do anything, but it’s not because you are an outlaw that you don’t have to follow the rules. Sooo if you don’t want an annoyed team leader don’t break the rules.

I’m of course a Outlaw through and through, I ran from my home town because of a tragic accident and ever since then I’ve been doing heists with groups of people and if I’m not doing heist or plotting one. I’m either reading or giving attention to my dog, whom I love as a child of my own. And that’s exactly what I’ll be doing right now after this.. Thank you all for being here with me and letting me tell my story.

Don’t forget we have some cool job openings up for grabs for Graduate positions and Student positions alike! Take your hand and apply if you dare!
